Introducing

New Author

Pam Turner

and

Tails from the Barn

Pam at the Barn with BV and Taffy.

One can clearly understand where and why her stories reflect such love for horses.

Pamela Turner- Bio

Life has never been boring for Pamela Turner. Growing up in a family of Western entertainers she was placed on the back of her grandfather’s movie stunt horse, Warrior at an

early age. This began her deep love of horses. Her grandpa Bennie Pete’s ranch in Culver City was an exciting place, especially on the weekends. This is when actors from the neighboring studios and some pretty famous movie and TV stars dropped by. Grandpa would coach them in

roping, whip-cracking, knife throwing, horseback riding, etc. to help them prepare for their next role in film or TV.

Pam earned her bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts. She did some acting but preferred the technical side and so freelanced as a Lighting Designer, Technical Director and Stage Manager. In 1984 she met her husband, Randy, at Hope Chapel’s Church on the Beach in Hermosa Beach. They went body surfing together and fell in love. They were married in Carmel, California in January 1985. Pam enrolled in graduate school earning a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. She worked as a licensed therapist for over two decades. Pam and Randy are also, musicians and so they found time to play in several different bands over the years. When Country music became popular in the 90s they added DJing and Country dance instruction to their somewhat full schedules. When the Turners moved to Palos Verdes, owning horses once again became part of

Pam’s life. She spent many happy hours riding the beautiful trails of Palos Verdes. It was also during this time that she and Randy shared another love as Pastors of the River, a small Christian church in Lomita, for 8 years. During her time as Vice- President of Education of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Horsemen’s Association, Pam founded the PVPHA Cowboy Poetry and Music Festival in 1997. She served as Festival Director, Mistress of Ceremonies and performer (with Randy) in her father and mother’s cowboy band, The New Westernaires. The festival still continues each year in January at the Empty Saddle Club in Rolling Hills.

Writing a book about some of the horses Pam has known was not surprising in the least. When she and Randy moved to Henderson, Nevada in 2015 she retired two years later. After doing a little traveling they settled into retired life. She finally found the time to complete the book she had been working on over the years. She also formed Ground Floor Press to self-publish.

Pam remains quite active and is involved in her community at Encounter Church Vegas. She continues to be part of the equine world by helping out a friend with her lovely horses. Pam is certified as an Equine Massage Therapist. She and Randy formed a Country/Southern Rock band, Crossfire, in 2016 that played

different venues Las Vegas and the surrounding area. In 2025 they retired the band in order to write music and work in their home studio. They created Ground Floor Music Studio on YouTube and produce original works using live and AI musicians. The genres they cover range from Jazz, Blues, Country, Bossa Nova, and Pop, to Reggae and contemporary worship. The music they create is designed to glorify their beautiful Savior, Jesus Christ. Life continues to be exciting and fulfilling for Pam as she enjoys over 40 years of marriage with Randy and all the wonderful gifts that God has given her.
