Awareness

My story is not unique and I am by no means a professional in therapy or mental illness.  But I recognize the dangers of an unknowing world and how it can affect those who struggle.  If my story can shed light and hope with anyone that is my goal.  If one chain of judgment, condemnation, or stigma break through this awareness, then progress begins towards positive change.   Healthier lives and mindsets begin with understanding and a willingness to view things from a different perspective.

Celebrate Recovery

I am a strong proponent of Celebrate Recovery, yes, it is a Christ centered recovery group, but it encompasses so much more than addiction.   Every hurt, habit, and hang up can find healing and hope when we place our hope in Him.   Because of this program I’ve gained tools to map out events and triggers that used to send me into manic rage.  Now I’m able to navigate and recognize anxiety as it begins and can almost always nip it before it takes over me.  CR has been a saving grace for me and was a light of hope when secular groups only discouraged me and left me feeling hopeless.

You can do this

I am not a proponent of self medicating and do believe consistency is the key to a healthy management of any illness, but especially mental health issues.  It is important to surround ourselves with a team of doctors and therapist in order to maintain success.   Yes, it is a challenge, but there is hope.  You are the only one that can decide if your mental health is worth fighting for.  No one can do it for you and you can’t do it for anyone else, it must be done because you want a healthier you.
